Writing Journal Promo~

posted by: komabucket in writingjournals

Hello, hello. Just wanted to do a quick promo for my writing/art/icon journal, the komabucket. It's a rather young bucket, so there's not much there just yet, but you'll be able to find mainly original and fanfiction works there. I've written lots of bleach and naruto stuff, so if you're into that, give it a looksie.

Excerpt from "How I Learned to Date 1988-1990"

On Saturday night I went out for a drink with an old friend of mine from High School Days . We had an intense couple of hours catching up on what a roller coaster life has been for us as we enter our 40's. She is in the dating pool and like most who are in it, don't feel it is a very fun place to be.Ironically we shared our cozy bar with a large wedding party complete with bride and groom.
On my way to see her "the 2 commodities of dating" popped into my head:
First Commodity: Lonliness:the motivating force that causes you to get out there and meet potential life partners. When lonliness strikes it causes you to do things you would not have done if you feel cozy and secure. This is what led me to move out of Manhattan and to Long Island with my cousins.

Second Commodity: Yourself:the development of an authentic life that you enjoy by yourself and makes you attractive to others. This is what Janet Price taught me.

Ta,diary entries with Janet Price to come soon...

This post will be constantly updated as new people join the community; if it gets too cumbersome, we may end up splitting the directory into alphabetized or genre-ized entries.

The Directory Bit

Okay, as for the Writing Journal directory portion of this community, I thought this would be as good a place as any to get that started. I was thinking everyone could make a post telling us a little about yourself, what you write in your journal, and maybe which authors most inspire or influence the way you write.

For me, I'm an Arizona native living with my wife and our cat. My journal is primarily a place for me to write and revise my poetry, though I do write the occasional short fiction piece and I'm storing those there as well. My favorite writers are Charles Bukowski, Allen Ginsberg and Alexander Vvedensky, and I suppose I'd consider those three the ones who have had the greatest influence on my writing.
